The Pentagon claims a leaked video of a mysterious spherical object is being investigated by a ‘UFO task force.’
The US military confirmed that newly leaked footage of a mysterious spherical object darting around over the California coast is genuine, noting that the video was captured aboard a Navy warship and that the sighting is being investigated.
The grainy infrared footage, which was first published on Friday by filmmaker Jeremy Corbell, shows a round object hovering over the ocean before plunging into the water. Soon after the video went viral, a Pentagon spokesperson confirmed that it was shot by American sailors.
“I can confirm that the video was taken by Navy officials and that the UAPTF used it in their ongoing investigations,” said Pentagon spokeswoman Susan Gough in a statement to the Debrief, referring to the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, a Naval Intelligence network developed to gather evidence of unexplained sightings.
The US Navy photographed & filmed “spherical” shaped UFOs & advanced transmedium vehicles; here is some of that footage. Filmed in the Combat Information Center of the USS Omaha / July 15th 2019 / warning area off San Diego @ 11pm PST. No wreckage found. No craft were recovered. pic.twitter.com/tK1YTG8sJ7

Puzzled sailors are heard reflecting on the unusual sighting in the video, with one shouting, “Woah, it splashed!” after the object dipped into the water, immediately asking another seaman to chart the object’s range and bearing.
Although Gough provided no further information about the footage, Corbell, whose documentary films mostly deal with UFOs and government transparency, says it was filmed near San Diego in 2019 from the command centre of the USS Omaha, a littoral combat ship. The filmmaker previously posted unclassified slides from a military report on the same encounter, which stated that the object vanished in the ocean and that “attempts to scan the water for debris were ineffective.”
May 1st 2020 a classified briefing was generated about the UFO / UAP presence via the Office of Naval Intelligence. I was able to obtain information regarding these & other UAP related briefings – as well as – unclassified slides & some intriguing military captured UAP footage. pic.twitter.com/F6V9h64Qfs

The Pentagon has said that its UFO-tracking program, the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, has been disbanded, but a Senate report last year acknowledged that the same study has been carried out by a separate body. The Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon Task Force has been renamed to collect and standardize sightings of unidentified airborne phenomena. It is needed to produce a report on its results, which is due in June.
