Romanian residents block bridge for trucks building NATO base
Residents of Romania’s Cincsor city have blocked the military trucks involved in the construction of a NATO base near Brasov County to move.
The trucks with military equipment got stuck on the bridge, in which local residents blocked the vehicles with concrete blocks to move, TVR TV channel reports on September 20.

“The bridge is one of the few access roads to the Cincu training ground, in which the work is underway to build a base for the NATO battle group,” TVR said.
Cincsor residents say that if the bridge collapses, they may lose all access roads, as another nearby bridge was previously closed for demolition.
The vehicles weighing no more than 12 tons can move along the bridge, but the Romanian Ministry of National Defense sends trucks carrying tanks weighing 60 tons over it.
