Number 2 Djokovic won’t play in Monte Carlo 2011

Based on information, currently # 2 tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, unbeaten this year, said on Friday he was pulling out of next week’s Monte Carlo Masters due to a knee injury.

“It’s a tough blow and unhappy news not only for the tournament and my fans but also for myself,” the 23-year-old Serb said in a headline. There were simply no further information about the actual extent of the problem.

Djokovic, was hoping to launch a successful clay court season, and additionaly to expand his unbeaten hystory of 26 matches dating back to December of previous year, lives and also trains most of the parts of the year on the Monte Carlo courts.

Since earning his 2nd grand slam in the Australian Open in January, Djokovic has triumphed in Indian Wells as well as Miami and is also adding pressure at the top ranked Spanish player Nadal to continue being at number one
